Barefoot beach is nicest area - Coco Cay - Trip Advisor

Just got home yesterday from the 3 day royal Carribean cruise. Coco key was a nice island with pretty beaches and beautiful water with good snorkeling. The water temp felt low 80s and perfect. Saw a few reef sharks, sting rays, and several reef fish. There were lots of clear jelly fish which didn't bother me but a few people got stung and said it was mild and they just kept on swimming. Their stings looked like mosquito bites. Towards the end of the day I got stung by a brown jelly fish. I thought the tentacle was a weed and went to fling it off and the pain was immediate and intense. Vinegar and green aloe Vera lidocaine goop provided by first aid offered no relief at all. Remained very painful and burned all night. Best relief was warm water. 2 days later I still have the mark with a red arm and stinging on and off. Not sure how long this lasts. Despite it all, a great time. Buy a coco loco drink on the Island, it was one that was worth it! Watch out for the brown Jellys!
